Manuscript Review Process

The International Journal of Agricultural Education Research (IJAER) employs a double-blind review process. Authors are required to remove any identifying information from their submitted manuscripts. Upon submission, the review process begins with the editorial assistants verifying that the manuscript complies with the journal’s author guidelines and scope. A manuscript that aligns with the journal’s scope and adheres to the authors’ guide is forwarded to an associate editor with the most relevant specialty and experience to the submitted manuscript’s theme for quality and plagiarism checks. Manuscripts that do not align with the journal’s scope and authors’ guide, exhibit poor quality, or have a plagiarism rate exceeding 20% are returned to the author. A manuscript approved by the associate editor is assigned to two reviewers for a blind review. Reviewers are instructed to utilize the journal’s reviewer guide when evaluating the assigned manuscript. Reviewers are encouraged to submit their review reports within three weeks of accepting the review assignment. Manuscripts with complete review reports are evaluated in conjunction with the reviewers’ reports by the editor-in-chief for the final decision. Manuscripts with complete reviewers’ reports and the editor-in-chief’s decision are communicated to the authors by the editorial assistants within two months of the initial submission. When the manuscript is not an outright rejection based on the reviewers’ suggestions and the editor-in-chief’s decision, authors are invited to make the necessary corrections and return the manuscript for a second and subsequent review. Initial reviewers are typically re-invited to continue the review, unless it is not feasible. In such cases, the manuscript is assigned to a new reviewer. However, the final decision by the editor-in-chief for such a manuscript will consider all reviewers’ reports. IJAER periodically invites interested and qualified scholars to apply as reviewers. They are approved to function as reviewers after evaluation by the editorial board.
